Events:
For the 2018 Season:

  • Done!   Cottage Grove Half Marathon.   April 7th. (3rd running!)   It has been way fun every year, the athletes seem to like us out on the course, a very positive event for us and Cottage Grove! For 2019 it is going to be in the Fall - September is what I heard.

  •  Done!  SLARA's 1st annual Home Station Simplex Test! May 12th, 2018. OK, maybe not annual, but we can hope! This will be fun and informatitve! 09:00 - till everyone quits! 146.46, with Bear for backup. This will hopefully give us a lot of intel for who can talk to where when the repeaters can't play.

  •  Done!  Coast Gravel Epic. May 19th, 2018. This is also Mudslinger events! Used to be in the Fall!

  •  Done!  Creswell Preparedness Fair! May 19th, 2018. This is at the Cobalt Building 10:00 am to 1:00 pm. Fun stuff for the kids and good information. Come learn more about being ready for disasters!

  •  Done!   Oregon Gran Fondo. Saturday, June 2nd. Mudslinger events. Same date as the first one - but on a Saturday - could be cold and wet!
The Piccolo course is back,(new course location!) and a new "Sherman" course of 137 miles! Looks like we have a need for a few more operators with an additional Aid Station and probably ride-alongs with Sag vehicles.
Las year was a rough day for propagation. Bring your plan "B" gear as well!
Even with course marking vandalism, it was a great event, Communications on the course was very good.

  • Done!  Field Day! June 23th and 24th, 2018.     We usually just work Saturday - starting setup 0800! Burgers and goodies - potluck again, Please let (? Myra ? I think was the last I heard) - the coordinater know what you are bringing!

  •   Done!  Tri at the Grove. July 21st, 2018.   Should be pretty close to normal. Always a fun event!

  •  Done!  Cottage Grove Emergency Fair. August 12th, 2017 Waiting for the 2018 date announcement! I cannot find reference to it on the web. Worth attending - come show your support for what we support!

  •   Next up!  Lighthouse Weekend. August 18th and 19th, 2018. A wonderful event for a couple great causes! Lots of info on their website. And you can get a great coast weekend out of the deal!

  •   Next up!   Waldo 100K. August 18th.   Matt, W7ARD heads up the radio portion on this one. Very organized, a great experience!

  •   Pine to Palm 100.   September 8th and 9th. An awesome event to work (and work hard!)- and they could use a few more good remote location ops, this is some tough terrain!
Craig Thornley is the contact for this one.

Best Deal in Lane County!

The Masonic Center has the best breakfasts in the County on the third Sunday of every month - from 8 to 11 am. The cost is $6.00, or a can/package of non-perishable food and $5.00. They very graciously let us use the Center for our meetings, so let's support them by coming to their breakfasts when we can! August 19th is the next one.
